I’ve installed several versions of vShield, but now I decided to write a how-to on how to install VMware vShield App. First of all, download the OVF-image on the VMware website :
It’s approx. 850 mb to download. Then use the import OVF appliance option to import the image to your VMware server. Follow these steps :

I prefer to use thick-format, don’t have the space? Then you got a problem! 
Acknowledge and accept.
Choose your datacenter
and which storage..
Like mentioned before, I prefer the thick provisioned format.
Select your network mapping
Review the settings and hit finish.
Let’s fire up the VM!
The VM is booting..
Log in using the default account credentials (admin, default)
Configure your network settings, enable (password=default), setup
Open a web browser https://<ip address you just entered>
